This is another of my favorites from this past spring’s “Traveler’s Rest” show.
Everyone seemed to like it (one person did so enough to buy it, which will probably distress me in a few years), but my favorite critical review came from Herve Mommeja- Marin. Having lived around my own terriers for long enough, his first comment was “It looks like one of those dogs pee’d on the floor….I KNOW what you meant to do….but it looks like pee….”
I told him that he should stick to epidemiology and forget about a career in art criticism…..that his critical vocabulary was distincly LIMITED (which shouldn’t seem a particular embarassment, given that English is his third language….)
