A couple of years ago, I’d JUST finished this picture when a friend came by to visit. Giving myself a compliment (for once) I pointed-out the brand-new picture and said “Look! I GOT it!… I FINALLY got bricks ‘right’!”
His completely earnest reply was “Ummm…what’s the big deal about bricks?”
That’s the most deflating comment/review I’ve ever had.. probably because, having heard the question, I thought “Oh, he’s right….what IS such a big deal about being able to paint bricks?”
