I still vividly recall the first time we drove into the wide valley below Jaen and down into Andalusia. Olive groves (don’t get too sentimental; almost all were planted since the fifties) stretch as far as you can see in any direction…..and this goes on for hundreds of miles. It’s all quite beautiful, if a bit disorienting for someone, like me, who’s unused to BIG vistas.
